Array of plaster speech balloons

Speech Balloons

In 2006 and 2007, I needed to make solid speech balloons, mostly in plaster, but also bronze, marble, and glass. The Artist’s Valentine awarded me another grant for this work in 2006 (thank you, Artist’s Valentine!), and some of the plaster pieces, the large marble speech balloon, and one tiny bronze appeared at the Mazmanian Gallery at Framingham State University in the 2006 show three, also featuring the work of professor John C. Anderson and another graduate, Jason Karakehian. What an honor to show with these two terrific artists! And how nice to find that Boston Globe arts writer Geoff Edgers gave me a shout-out on boston.com (and furthermore, that it’s still there in 2022)!
